چکیده مقاله:

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the kinematic and kinetic variables, which predict anterior tibia shear force during single-leg landing in female athletes. Methods: Forty-three subjects (mean and standard deviation for age 21.12 ± 2.00 y, height 168.58 ± 7.62 cm, and weight 60.27 ± 7.80 kg) participated in this study. Kinematic and kinetic variables of lower extremity and trunk during single-leg landing were collected by 5 Vicon cameras and Kistler force plate. Stepwise multiple regression and Pearson correlation were used to identify predictor variables of anterior shear force (P ≤ 0.05). Results: Peak of extensor moment (P = 0.004, r = -0.394) and maximum knee flexion (P = 0.007, r = -0.370) were the best predictors that explained 30% of the variance of the shear force data. Therefore, rise in maximum extensors moment of knee and knee maximum flexion causes increase and decrease in anterior shear force, respectively. In addition, a significant relationship between trunk flexion (P = 0.039) and knee flexion angular velocity (P = 0.048) at the moment of initial contact with the anterior shear force. Conclusion: On the basis of previous research, and the relationship between clinical findings, the noncontact of anterior cruciate ligament injury during landing was confirmed. These results can be used in prospective studies examining modifiable noncontact risk factors of ACL injury.

Predictors of proximal tibia anterior shear force during a vertical stop-jump.

Anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) continues to be a significant medical issue for athletes participating in sports and recreational activities. Biomechanical analyses have determined that anterior shear force is the most direct loading mechanism of the ACL and a probable component of noncontact ACL injury. The purpose of this study was to examine the biomechanical predictors of proximal tibia an...

The lower extremity biomechanics of single- and double-leg stop-jump tasks.

The anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury is a common occurrence in sports requiring stop-jump tasks. Single- and double-leg stop-jump techniques are frequently executed in sports. The higher risk of ACL injury in single-leg drop landing task compared to a double-leg drop landing task has been identified. However the injury bias between single- and double-leg landing techniques has not been i...

Correlations between sagittal plane kinematics and landing impact force during single-leg lateral jump-landings

[Purpose] The correlations of peak vertical ground reaction force and sagittal angles during single-leg lateral jump-landing with noncontact anterior cruciate ligament injury remain unknown. This study aimed to clarify the correlations between kinematics and impact force during lateral jump-landing. [Subjects and Methods] Twenty active males were included in the analysis. A sagittal-view movie ...

Effect of Fatigue on Ground Reaction Force Variables During Single-leg Landing in Athletes With the History of Anterior Cruciate Ligament Injury

Introduction: Since people experience fatigue after anterior cruciate ligament injury during exercises, it is important to understand how fatigue affects the biomechanical movement patterns. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate the effect of fatigue on ground reaction force variables during single-leg landing in athletes with a history of an anterior cruciate ligament spr...

Comparisons of knee and ankle joint angles and ground reaction force according to functional differences during single-leg drop landing

[Purpose] The purpose of this study was to determine potential predictors of functional instability of the knee and ankle joints during single-leg drop landing based on the prior history of injury. [Subjects and Methods] The subjects were 24 collegiate soccer players without pain or dysfunction. To compare the differences between the stable and unstable sides during single-leg drop landing, 8 m...
